The Creek Above Natural Bridge, Golden Trout Wilderness

A study in lyrical texture. This is Malpais Creek, a tributary of Golden Trout Creek, that created the Natural Bridge by boring through the softer basalt of the ancient lava flow. The trout that were trapped in the canyon above the flow evolved into Golden trout. The boulder in the center is granite; the rock perfectly fitted and perched on top is basalt.
