A calm April morning. The Lookout Studio on the South Rim appears to be hewn out of the cliff on which it rests. The scene is still in light shadow. The rising sun, though out of frame, has struck the gold cliff beyond, and is reflected in the upper window of the tower. The trail far below leads you out to the precipice, and the canyon beyond. The clouds signaled a change in the weather—by late afternoon it was snowing!
