From the heart of Sequoia National Park wilderness, this is the spectacular view south down the Kern Canyon from the High Sierra Trail. The upper Kern Canyon is like a half-dozen Yosemite Valleys laid end to end, except you can't drive there. This was the sixth morning of an eleven day backpacking trip which included the summit of Mount Whitney.
