Half Dome

Etching. Image size: 5.75” high x 4.25” wide. Paper size: 11” high x 7.5” wide.

Exhibited at Paso Robles Public Library, July and August 2023 (solo exhibit). Exhibited in California Dreamin’, Paso Robles Art Association exhibit, July 3 –September 1, 2021. Juried into Pressing Matters 2018, San Luis Obispo Museum of Art.

A study in solidity. Portrait of the inscrutable Half Dome (Tis-sa-ack) from Glacier Point under soft clouds. Clouds Rest is the peak to the left, with the Sunrise Creek watershed to the right.

A hard ground line etching, this image is made up of thousands of tiny lines etched for a short period of time. The majority of the lines were laid in before the first etch, followed by two modest additions.
